Final Fundraising - Please help!!!

Total funds must be raised by April 30th so please help me to make my goal of $3,600.  Your prayers are greatly appreciated.  My team is making final preparations for the trip and I am very excited about this opportunity!

We ate an authentic African meal on Saturday and it was delicious!

Flights are booked!

Flights have been booked for the trip so it feels like it is really going to happen now!  We will be departing RDU and flying direct to London (Heathrow) and then to Nairobi, Kenya.  I am so excited to be able to learn and share my talents with another part of the world.

Radio Interview for Water Dash for Kenya

I recently had the opportunity to appear on the AM radio station, WPTF, to raise awareness about the Water Dash for Kenya fundraiser.  The event was a great success and if you feel so inclined, then you can listen to the interview by accessing the following link:

Cultural Awareness Training and Vaccinations

It's hard to believe that the missions trip to Africa will be here in less than three months!  I am very excited about upcoming training in April about cultural awareness.  In addition, we will will learn what vaccinations are required and medications in order to be as safe as possible.

Many thanks to Ivo and Antoinette for their donations!  This trip requires a lot of planning, preparation and financial and prayer support.

Please consider making even a small financial contribution towards my fundraising goal of $3,600.  I am required to raise 100% of the total amount by April 30th and I still need to raise $1,800.  Any amount is greatly appreciated!

Conflict Resolution Training

There is a lot to learn when you commit to serving on a missions trip overseas.  Last weekend, there was training about conflict resolution and it was a good reminder about the four stages of team development - Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing.  It can be stress-inducing to travel a long way from home, eat strange food, and deal with sleepy and sometimes cranky team members.  I'm comforted by the fact that I'm travelling with an amazing group of people who are passionate about helping others in need.

Fundraising

Activity is already underway to raise funds so that my team can go to Michura, Kenya in June to serve the people in the small community.  We are having a fundraiser in February that should be a lot of fun.  Please prayerfully consider joining us on Saturday, February 22nd for the Water Dash for Kenya 6K run.  More details can be obtained by accessing the following site:  http://waterdashforkenya.org/

A big thank you to Amelia Weaver and Tana Poole for making a contribution so that I will be able to go on this short missions trip.  Your financial support is greatly appreciated!
